On December 1st, 2016, we will recognize World AIDS Day with an event focused on engaging people living with HIV as collaborators in the implementation of the treatment/ care cascade.
Peer consultants will facilitate discussion regarding findings from PHAN’s peer- led consultation of the needs of people living with HIV in the Peel Region. We will also explore the ways in which PHAN is shifting to support the evolving leadership role of people living with HIV in the treatment cascade, and potential opportunities for community partners to do the same.
The evening will include presentations, community dialogue, a candlelight vigil, networking opportunities, and light refreshments.
Our World AIDS Day event caps off a month- long campaign, “Raise a Hand for HIV Awareness,” that has garnered dozens of enthusiastic contributions from PHAN staff, community partners, clients, volunteers, and friends.
