Sunday, September 25th 2011
Chinguacousy Park, Brampton (Map)
11:00AM – 3:30PM
Why to Walk
HIV affects us all and is a bigger issue today than ever before.
Recent research reveals that close to 65,000 Canadians are living with HIV/AIDS.
1/3 new diagnosis’s are youth under the age of 30.
The Scotiabank AIDS Walk for life is Canada’s largest HIV/AIDS fundraising and awareness event to benefit those living with, affected by and at risk of contracting HIV/AIDS.
This year the Peek HIV/AIDS Network is excited to once again host the walk in Chinguacousy Park, Brampton. PHAN is the only organization in the Region of peel committed to serving people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. 100% of all the proceeds raised through the Walk go right back into the community and are used towards HIV/AIDS prevention, education and outreach. Additionally, this year’s walk promises to be a fun day with family-oriented activities, live entertainment, prizes, a street fair and more!
Come out for a local cause and have a great time doing it.
